Q: Which schools are eligible to sign up for tours?
A: Public schools that are Title I can sign up for 2 free tours per school. Public schools that are not Title 1 can sign up for 1 free tour. Private schools may purchase tours for $500 each and email firstname.lastname@example.org to do so.
Q: How do sign up for a tour?
A: We have automated the signup process. Click here to be directed to our calendar.
1. Click on the date that you want to take a tour. You will be directed to an EventBrite page.
2. Again choose the date that you want from the pull-down menu that says 'Please select a date to attend.' To reserve the
tour you will be asked to put down a $50 deposit. It will be refunded to you when you take the tour.
3. Once you make the reservation an H2O tour guide will reach out to you to determine which reservoir best suits the
needs of your class.
Q: How many classes can we bring to the reservoir in one day?
A: We can only schedule one class (up to 34 students) at a time.
Q: How long do the tours last?
A: The tours begin at 10am and end at noon or 12:30 depending on the requirements of your schedule. Students should bring their lunch.
Q: Can I cancel a tour?
A: Yes. So long as you cancel 1 week prior to a tour your deposit will be refunded.
Q: When can I sign up for a High Bridge tour?
A: During the month of June. The High Bridge is scheduled to re-open on Memorial Day.
Q: Does bad weather cancel a tour?
A: Cancellations due to inclement weather will be determined at 7am on the day of the tour.
Q: How many tours on different days can my school sign up for?
A: Each school can sign up for 2 reservoir tours per day. They can both be on the same day or two different days. Schools may purchase additional tours for $100 each for Title I schools and $200 each for other public schools. Our DOE vendor number is NYC860014. The fee for private schools is $500 per tour.
