Q: Which schools are eligible to sign up for tours?
A: Public schools can sign up for 1 free tour per school.
- Title I schools can purchase additional tours for $75 per class.
- Non Title I schools can purchase additional tours for $150 per class.
- Private schools may purchase tours for $500 each and email firstname.lastname@example.org to do so.
Q: How do sign up for a tour?
A: We have automated the signup process. Click here to be directed to our signup page. Choose the date that you want from the pull-down menu that says "Select a date."
Q: How many classes can we bring to the reservoir in one day?
A: We can schedule two classes at a time (68 students total).
Q: How long do the tours last?
A: The tours begin at 10:30am and end at noon or 12:30 depending on the requirements of your schedule. Students should bring their lunch.
Q: Can I cancel a tour?
A: Yes. So long as you cancel 1 week prior to a tour your deposit will be refunded. If you cancel less than a week in advance your deposit will not be refunded.
Q: Does bad weather cancel a tour?
A: Cancellations due to inclement weather will be determined at 7am on the day of the tour. In case of rain we will visit your school and lead an indoor lesson. We cannot reschedule tours because we book up.
Q: How many tours on different days can my school sign up for?
A: Each school can sign up for 2 classes per day. They can both be on the same day or two different days. Schools may purchase additional tours for $75 each for Title I schools and $150 each for other public schools. Our DOE vendor number is NYC860014. The fee for private schools is $500 per tour.
