Lecture about Hydrofracking
with Kate Sinding NRDC
February 19, 2009
Columbia University

Hydrofracturing is a method of extracting natural gas from shale rock buried 6,000 feet below the surface.  Toxic chemicals are used in the process and the effects have been hazardous and have posioned people's water in sevaral states. Fracking is proposed in NYC's watershed and is a real threat because energy companies are lobbying hard to drill as they please. They look at polluting merely as a cost of doing business.

Come here Kate Sinding an attourney with the Natural Resources Defence Council explain how fracking is dangerous.
